Start packing items
Arrange for shipping any items being sent ahead
Confirm all hotel and airplane reservations for move-in
If possible make arrangments for Parents Weekend/Homecoming Weekend - all plane and hotel reservations!

September

Plan Holiday schedule for remainder of year
Thanksgiving Winter Recess: Check dates ofdorm room closings for holidays!
Book all necessary plane, train, car arrangments
Plan any visits if planning to go for any sporting events
Purchase all necessary tickets (games and airplane), book hotel reservations.

October

Parents' Weekend and Homecoming
Mid-semester examinations

Thanksgiving Break
Mid-semester grades released

Return for the second semester!
Rush fraternities and sororities, if applicable
